- Fargesia murielae, the umbrella bamboo, is a species of flowering plant in the family Poaceae. It is a large, clump-forming evergreen bamboo, closely resembling Fargesia nitida in the same genus, but with yellow canes.
- An exotic evergreen hedging plant, Fargesia Bamboo forms an elegant screen of healthy green stems with a weeping habit, adding texture to a classic British garden.
- Sunny or partial shade, very wet to normal soil, sheltered and inland.

Best Growing Conditions
They are among the world's hardiest bamboos, with some withstanding temperatures down to -25C or more. Suitable for: producing cut canes, cold and exposed gardens, hedging and screening, growing in pots, good specimen plants. The canes become yellow-green as they age and the foliage is pea green.
