Helleborus also known as the Christmas rose is an evergreen perennial that bears beautiful large white flat-faced flowers above low-growing leathery, deep green foliage. This fantastic Winter flowering plant is ideal for adding colour to the garden during the colder months, with them flowering into early Spring. These pollen rich plants are loved by bees and other pollinating insects. PLANT GIFT - This easy to grow hardy garden plant, comes planted in a 15cm terracotta plant pot topped with moss making it an excellent garden gift for plant and garden lovers at Christmas. GROWING - Christmas roses are best grown in partial shade but can cope with some sunshine, in moist well draining neutral to alkaline soil that is not too wet or too dry. Hellebore also make great plants for shady areas of the garden withstanding frosts well. As they are perennial plants, they will come back year after year. They can be planted at the front of garden borders, patio pots or window boxes and look lovely when grown in groups. ONGOING CARE - To encourage further growth, remove any spent flower heads and cut back old leaves. Helleborus dislikes being moved once established so they should not be divided and will self seed in the right conditions.
