how to look after a norway spruce christmas tree
We recommend once your Norway Spruce tree arrives take it out of the packaging immediately. Then check if it needs water, to see if the top of the soil is dry. If possible before bringing inside leave outside in a sheltered spot to acclimatise. If this is not available, bring it into the coolest room for a few days.
Top Tip: Remember so far their whole lives have been outside so they need time to adjust to the warmth of a house in Winter.
Once in prime spot for the festivities keep away from any radiators and heat sources. Add to a decorative pot without holes, ensure when watering not water sits stagnant at the bottom.
how to grow a norway spruce
Our pot grown norway spruce trees are designed to live on and grow. And what better way than with a semi-mature tree that is no longer a seed. Once you have finished using your tree inside, it will need time to adjust before going straight outside, move it to the lowest temperature part of your home then a shed if possible.
Now time for planting in the garden, this variety is known for it’s shallow roots. Dig a hole in the ground double the width of the nursery pot but the same depth. Water the ground slightly and plant with manure and bark mulch in order to contain moisture well. First year ensure it’s watered regularly when dry, after this time the rainfall should be enough apart from summer days.
