Arrives in 2 Litre Pot - Height 125 to 150cm

  • The Purple Birch is a deciduous tree, that can grow to heights of 15 metres. It produces lovely silvery-white peeling bark which turns a dark purple colour as the tree matures.
  • The serrated, small leaves are a rich reddish-purple when they first emerge in the Spring, and then turn a purple tinged with dark green in the Summer, before becoming purple with shades of bronze in the Autumn.
  • As the Purple Birch is full hardy tree, it can be planted in an exposed to sheltered area of the garden, in full sun to partial shade - making it the perfect all-rounder.
  • This tree is best planted in moist well draining soil, with young trees requiring regular watering until the roots are established. As the tree grows and spreads it's roots wide, it brings otherwise inaccessible nutrients into the tree, which are then transferred into the soil by falling leaves - helping improve the soil for all other plants in the garden.
