Light Required
Most Mock Orange varieties like full sun or partial shade. They will not do well and will not flower profusely if planted in deep shade.
-
Watering
These shrubs will rarely need watering once established as they have very deep root systems. However, plants grown in containers, or in soil that is not deep, will need watering when the weather is dry.
-
Best Growing Conditions
To bring out the sweet fragrance of the flowers, the ideal planting position should be warm, sunny and sheltered but it will cope with partial shade and colder positions provided the soil is well-drained. Propagate by layering, hardwood cuttings or semi-hardwood cuttings. Prune out thin, old shoots after flowering. Time to ultimate height 5 to 10 years.
