Best Growing Conditions
"Plant these sun-loving plants in a spot that does not get water-logged in winter. Add lots of organic matter - well-rotted garden compost or animal manure, to the planting area. They will need regular watering while getting established, afterwards, you should only need to add water during dry spells while the fruit is swelling. You may want to cover shrubs with netting to protect your crop from visiting birds. Prune in late autumn or winter while the plant is dormant by cutting back new growth to two buds and the main leading stems back by one-third. These hard-working plants will benefit from a slow-releasing granular feed in spring, gently mixed into the surface soil around the base of the plant and watered in."
