Ideal for Autumn and Winter Gardening
- The Skimmia japonica ‘Rubella’ is a compact male skimmia, with reddish, deep green elliptic evergreen leaves.
- It produces dark red flower buds in the Autumn and throughout the Winter. In the early Spring the buds open with lovely fragrant star shaped white flowers.
- Skimmia are ideal for growing in Autumn or Winter container displays or using to fill gaps in borders.
Once established they can reach a height and spread of 1 - 1.5 metres.

Best Growing Conditions
Skimmia is an extremely tolerant plant and is low maintenance. They will thrive in most types of moderately fertile soil, including acid, alkali or neutral soil types.
