Fulton's Strawberry Surprise Rhubarb is known for it's tart yet slightly sweet flavour and is newer within horticulture. It has an RHS Award of Garden Merit which only an other 2 varieties of rhubarb have. It has a striking look with red stalks and traditional looking leaves

  • LONG HARVEST - A vigorous perennial with large, glossy, wrinkled, mid-green leaves and long, bright red, edible stems ready for harvest from early spring to early summer.

  • SO TASTY - Rhubarb is delicious in stews, desserts and as it is so easy to grow and takes up very little room it deserves a place in every garden.

  • EASY TO GROW - This variety is easy to grow in the UK and will produce a large crop.

  • PLANTING CROWNS - Rhubarb Crowns can been planted autumn to spring

  • FORCING - This variety can be forced late approximately mid winter with rhubarb forcer or a tall bucket. This can speed up harvest depending on weather anything between 2 -6 weeks

  • LEAVES - Only eat the stalks as leaves are poisonous

  • STORING - We recommend planting once you receive it as long as weather is not too hot, if not ready for planting now, open the paper bag to keep the crowns well ventilated, away from any moisture and in a cool dark spot. Regularly check on them as no pets or rodents have got them
