Plant with the crown 5-8cm deep to encourage shoots to grow from below ground level. This plant will thrive in an alkaline/neutral moist well-drained soil. Clematis will flourish in partial shade but prefers full sun. Clematis will thrive in most soil types as long as they are kept moist and well drained. Feed at least annually and up to 2-3 times a year with potassium rich fertiliser or rose fertilisert to encourage flower growth. Good pest and disease resistance. Any appearance of aphids or capsid bugs can be dealt with by wiping them away from the leaves. Use fertiliser to protect against Clematis Wilt.
