how to care for nordmann fir fresh cut tree
The Nordmann fir makes one of the hardiest and longest-lasting Christmas tree options. When you first bring your fresh Nordmann fir tree indoors, make a fresh cut about an inch up from the original cut to open the stem. Stand the tree in a sturdy base stand filled with room temperature water. Nordmann firs do not drink as quickly as other varieties, so check the water level every other day rather than daily. Be sure not to let the base dry out. Find a spot away from direct heat and sunlight which can cause the tree to dry out faster. Lightly misting the branches a few times a week with room temperature water will also help keep it hydrated. With its soft fragrance and minimal shedding, the Nordmann fir is a low maintenance tree that should retain its rich, deep green colour throughout the entire holiday season if properly watered.
