Best Growing Conditions
This frost hardy plant (down to -15C) thrives in a moist but well–drained soil. Grows best in acidic, moderately fertile, humus-rich soil. Will tolerate alkaline conditions, but chlorosis may occur on shallow chalk. The time to ultimate height is 5 to 10 years. Propagate by softwood cuttings in summer or pot up suckers in the autumn.
