The Blue Torch Cactus, botanically known as the Pilocereus Azureus is a rare live columnar cactus. This unique houseplant is best known for its attractive silvery blue/green skin tone and traditional golden spined cacti appearance. Once established it can grow up to 50 cm in height. NOTE: the decorative pot is not included, it will arrive in a 8.5cm plastic growing pot.
This tropical cactus native of Brazil, Mexico and the Caribbean is easy to care for, making it ideal for complete beginners and more experienced houseplant collectors. With its distinctive colouring this cactus is sure to be a real conversation starter and a must have addition to any house plant enthusiast’s collection.
The Blue Torch Cactus needs plenty of bright indirect sunlight. Avoid giving it direct sunlight, as this can cause the plant to scorch. As it matures, this houseplant’s bluish green tones will shift and vary in intensity depending on how much sunlight it receives.
As the Pilocereus Azureus is used to dry, hot weather, it will cope with normal to dry household temperatures. It does tolerate higher humidity compared to many other cacti, due to being native to environments with much wetter air. This houseplant also requires very little watering. When watering, soak sparingly and allow the soil to dry out completely before rewatering.
