The Muehlenbeckia astonii commonly known as the shrubby tororaro, zig zag plant or wiggy-wig bush is an erect, deciduous, twiggy shrub that can grow to 2 metres in height. Native to New Zealand it produces masses of zig-zagging, wiry branches that bear small, heart-shaped leaves, and during the Summer months, it produces tiny, inconspicuous flowers.
This Muehlenbeckia is easy to grow in any soil type in full sun to partial shade and can tolerate poorer, dry soil.
Moderate watering
It is an ideal plant for growing in coastal gardens that have more exposure to the winder conditions.
