  • Pomegranate ‘Provence’ is a really attractive and slightly unusual plant that brings both colour and interest to your garden. It produces vibrant orange-red flowers in summer, followed by small pomegranate fruits, giving it a mix of ornamental and edible appeal.

  • It has a naturally compact, shrubby habit, making it a good choice for patios, borders or growing in containers. In warmer months, it enjoys being outdoors in a sunny spot, and it can be moved to a more sheltered position or indoors during colder periods, making it suitable for UK growing conditions.

  • Once established, it’s fairly easy to look after and doesn’t need too much attention. The glossy green leaves, bright flowers and decorative fruit make it a great all-round plant that adds something a little different to your space.

    Watering Water regularly while the plant is establishing, then allow the upper soil to dry slightly between waterings. Established Mediterranean herbs prefer free-draining conditions and generally need less water than leafy crops. Container-grown plants will still need checking frequently during warm, dry weather.

    Best Growing Conditions Grow in sun or partial shade in fertile loam, enriched with organic matter where appropriate. Choose an open position with good airflow and enough space for the crop to mature without excessive competition. Protect tender crops from late frost and cold winds, and use greenhouse or sheltered growing conditions where the variety requires extra warmth.
