- Sedum is a large genus of flowering outdoor succulents that fall into two categories: low growing sedum and upright sedum. They come in a wide variety of heights, colours and forms. They have thick fleshy leaves and typically produce tiny star-shaped flowers that often bloom late in their growing season.
