They are great for steaming, roasting, or adding straight to spring meals. Once it's grown, it gives you a lot of fruit every year with very little work.

  • This type is recognised for growing quickly and being tough, making healthy crowns that settle in well and give you steady harvests over time. At first, growing your own asparagus takes some patience, but once it starts to grow, it's really rewarding.

    Best Growing Conditions Plant in a sunny position in fertile, well-drained soil. Keep the bed weed-free and water during dry spells. Avoid harvesting in the first year to allow the plant to establish strong roots, then enjoy picking spears in spring in the years that follow.
