  • Galanthus nivalis, the classic native snowdrop, is one of the first signs that spring is on its way. These delicate white, nodding flowers push through the cold ground in late winter, often appearing while there’s still a chill in the air. Planted in drifts, they create a beautiful natural display beneath trees, along pathways or in woodland-style gardens.

  • Supplied as bare roots “in the green”, they establish quickly when planted straight away and will gently multiply over the years. Snowdrops are perfect for naturalising and bring a soft, understated charm to the garden at a time when very little else is in flower.

    Water after planting and during dry periods; keep soil moderately moist but well drained.

    Plant as soon as possible after receiving, in moist but well-drained soil in partial shade. Position around 5–8cm deep and allow foliage to die back naturally after flowering. Once settled, they require very little attention and will return each year.
