- Eryngium planum is herbaceous perennial, that has a robust growing habit. It produces eye-catching, steely-blue spiky flower heads in Summer to early Autumn, on tall stems grown above rounded, dark green foliage. Each flower head is made up of narrow, spiny bracts measuring 2.5cm in length. The stems can also be cut and used in flower arrangements.
- Eryngium planum are loved by a variety of pollinating insects such as bees, butterflies and moths. This plant has received the RHS Plants for Pollinators seal of approval.
