  • International Kidney is best known as the original “Jersey Royal” type potato, prized for its wonderfully delicate flavour and waxy texture. It’s a first early variety, producing smooth, well-shaped tubers that are perfect for boiling and serving simply with butter and fresh herbs. When lifted young, the flavour is especially sweet and nutty — a real treat straight from the garden.

  • This is an early cropping, reliable variety that performs well in beds, raised plots or large containers. Because it matures quickly, you won’t have to wait long to enjoy your first harvest of the season.

    Watering Water regularly during growth and tuber formation; keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged.

    Best Growing Conditions Plant in a sunny position in well-drained soil once frost risk has reduced. Earth up as shoots appear to protect from cold and encourage more tubers. Water regularly during dry periods and harvest as first earlies once plants begin to flower.
