Best Growing Conditions Banana plants like to be kept well watered during their growing cycle but don’t like to have their roots sitting in water. They are best grown in well draining soil, positioned in a South or West facing, sheltered area which receives in-direct sunlight to partial shade. Due to their fast growing nature, they require heavy feeding of a balanced fertiliser during their active growing period of March and September.
