  • Muscari, commonly known as Grape Hyacinth, is a compact Spring-flowering bulbous perennial that forms dense clusters of bell-shaped flowers resembling tiny grapes. Flowering in early to mid-Spring, these charming blooms create a vivid carpet of colour in beds, borders, and containers. Popular with pollinating insects, Muscari is an ideal companion for early bloomers like tulips and daffodils. These hardy bulbs naturalise well, returning year after year with an even more impressive display.

  • Plant Muscari bulbs in Autumn in well-drained, fertile soil, in full sun or partial shade. Space bulbs approximately 8-10cm apart at a depth of 8cm. Water thoroughly after planting and allow the foliage to die back naturally to feed the bulbs for future growth. Adding mulch or compost helps improve soil drainage and retain moisture. Once established, Muscari bulbs require little maintenance and will multiply over time, spreading through beds or lawns with ease.

  • Perfect for rockeries, under deciduous trees, or along paths and borders, Muscari thrives in a wide range of garden settings. These small but impactful flowers are also great for container planting, where they pair beautifully with other Spring bulbs. For best effect, plant in bold groups or drifts. Muscari can also be used as cut flowers, bringing early spring cheer indoors. Their resilience, easy care, and vivid colour make them a must-have for gardeners of all experience levels.
