- White Lisbon is your traditional spring onion, a firm favourite for UK growers. This quick and easy to grow variety is ideal for growing in small gardens and containers where they produce an abundance of hardy long white stems with bright green tops.
- Pull onions as required during Summer to Autumn. Best picked when they are still young and tender. White Lisbon spring onions have a delicious, aromatic mild flavour, making them perfect for stir fries, curries, soups and noodle dishes. They are also ideal chopped up for sprinkling on top of salads or scrambled egg for extra flavour.
Bright indirect sun
Water well before planting and during any drier weather.
Plant in a sunny open position about 10 - 15 cm apart in well draining soil enriched with manure or garden compost. Spring onions make a great filler in between slow growing veg like potatoes, beans or peas. Growers also use Spring onions as row markers to help mark where other crops have grown as they germinate quickly in little space.
