Rose bush gifts beat cut flowers every time. They last for years rather than wilting in a week, and they actually get better with age. We've put together a gift collection specifically for marking special occasions—anniversaries, birthdays, memorials, and celebrations where you want something more meaningful than flowers that'll be binned by next Tuesday.
From the soft blush of Mum in a Million to the rich tones of Ruby Wedding or the classic elegance of Silver Anniversary roses, our gift roses arrive carefully wrapped and ready to plant. Each one gets checked by hand, grown in UK soil, and prepared to thrive once it goes in the ground. It's a great gift that keeps giving long after the event is over.
We have roses that are perfect for different occasions and feelings. Pick what fits the occasion.
Anniversary Roses: Silver, ruby, golden, diamond—colours chosen to match milestone years and lasting love.
Birthday Roses: Bright, cheerful varieties that bring colour and fragrance to gardens year after year.
Remembrance Roses: They are soft, beautiful plants that bloom as a way to remember people who have died.
Wedding and Engagement Roses: They are beautiful, fragrant flowers that celebrate new beginnings and shared futures.
Thank You and Retirement Roses: Thoughtful gifts showing appreciation with something that'll last beyond a card.
Each rose gets presented nicely and ships nationwide, making it straightforward to send something meaningful directly to someone's door.
Roses symbolise affection, memory, and gratitude—all the things people want to express but struggle to say. We treat them with proper care because a meaningful gift starts with a healthy, thriving plant that'll actually survive being planted.
Hand-selected and gift wrapped: Each rose gets chosen for health and appearance, then wrapped by hand so it looks like a proper gift when it arrives. Not just shoved in a box.
UK-grown and ready to flourish: Our roses come from local nurseries and are grown in real garden conditions. They expect UK weather, rather than Mediterranean sunshine, which we don't have.
Covers every occasion: Birthday, wedding, memorial, retirement—whatever you're marking, there's a rose here that fits the sentiment without being cheesy.
Delivered with care: Plants are protected during shipping by packaging, so they arrive fresh, hydrated, and ready to plant instead of dried out and stressed.

When you buy from Carbeth Plants, you're sending something that'll grow and remind someone of you every time it blooms. Beats a bunch of cut flowers.
Roses give you something to watch throughout the seasons, not just one flush of flowers, then nothing.
Spring: New shoots and buds are starting to grow, which means that the first flowers will bloom when the weather gets warmer.
Summer: Full flower period with scent and colour. This is when roses earn their keep.
Autumn: Many varieties keep blooming whilst others form bright rose hips that last into winter. Still looking good when most plants are done.
Winter: Strong framework holds shape even when bare. You can see the structure clearly, ready for next spring.
A well-chosen rose bush becomes part of the garden and a reminder of why it was given. It grows alongside memories.
Giving a rose is straightforward, and looking after it isn't complicated either. Basic care means your rose gets stronger each year and keeps blooming for seasons to come.
Pick a sunny position: Roses need sun—at least six hours daily. They'll tolerate some shade but won't flower as well.
Sort the soil out: Plant in well-drained, fertile soil with added compost or organic matter. Roses are greedy feeders and appreciate good soil.
Planting depth matters: Position the plant so the base of the stem sits just above soil level. Firm gently and water thoroughly after planting.
Water regularly: Keep soil moist, especially during dry spells and right after planting, whilst roots establish. Don't let new roses dry out completely.
Feed for better blooms: Apply rose fertiliser in early spring and midsummer for healthy leaves and abundant flowers. Skip feeding after August, though.
Prune annually: Trim in late winter or early spring to shape the plant and encourage new growth. Don't be shy—roses handle hard pruning well.
Mulch around the base: Retains moisture and protects roots from cold. Well-rotted compost or bark chips work brilliantly.
Follow these basics, and your rose gift becomes more established each year, with blooms that get better rather than worse over time.
At our nursery, we take great care to grow and package every rose gift. Before we send them out, we check each one for health. Then we pack them carefully to keep the roots moist and the shoots safe during shipping.
