  • These Gladiolus "Blue Tropic" bulbs will give you a beautiful summer-flowering plant with blue-lilac flowers that are very eye-catching. Each petal has gentle violet tones that make the display look cool and tropical. The tall flower spikes rise gently above the leaves, adding height, elegance, and a unique colour to borders and cutting gardens.

  • "Blue Tropic" is easy to cultivate and does well in sunny, well-drained soil. It grows quickly and makes robust stems that offer remarkable vertical structure to seasonal planting schemes. It looks great with whites, pastels, and darker jewel tones in a bright summer arrangement.

  • These gladiolus bulbs are great for mixed borders or for cutting to enjoy inside. They bloom reliably and endure a long time from mid to late summer. Each bulb is chosen for its ability to grow well and bloom well, so it will add cool, subtle colour to your landscape.

Best Growing Conditions Plant these gladioli bulbs during the Spring, around about late March to mid April in fertile, well draining slightly acid soil in full sun but they can cope in partial shade. These corms should be planted about 10-15 cm deep and 15 cm apart, with the slightly pointed end upwards and roots downwards. After planting, water well and keep gladioli moist, but avoid water logging the soil. They may need staking or netting to prevent them from blowing over. Inserting canes while planting helps avoid damaging the corms.
