• Helleborus also known as the Christmas rose is an evergreen perennial that bears beautiful large white flat-faced flowers above low-growing leathery, deep green foliage. This fantastic Winter flowering plant is ideal for growing outdoors and indoors. The flower heads can also be snipped off, to display floating in bowls of water as part of Christmas table décor.


• This plant comes in a 12cm plastic growing pot, displayed in a lovely seagrass wicker basket, making it an excellent garden gift for plant lovers at Christmas. Once the plant has finished flowering indoors, it is recommended for it to be planted outdoors where it will reflower the following year and subsequent years to come.


• Helleborus are grown as hardy garden plants and withstand frosts well, being a perennial plant they will come back year after year. They can be planted at the front of garden borders, patio pots or window boxes and look lovely when grown in groups. Best Growing Conditions This cottage garden plant is evergreen but in the first year its leaves will die back after flowering. To encourage further growth, remove any spent flower heads and cut back old leaves. Helleborus dislikes being moved once established so they should not be divided and will self seed in the right conditions.
