- Rose of Sharon, is a late flowering, hardy hibiscus, which brings life and colour to the garden when other plants are past their best.
- It bears large, trumpet-shaped flowers from late summer to mid-autumn, against a backdrop of dark green, three-lobed leaves.
These plants require at least six hours of daylight. They are best positioned in a sunny sheltered spot in a border or container.
Water hardy hibiscus shrubs every week in the summer and twice a week in scorching weather, water enough so that the soil is evenly moist. Hold off watering too much in winter months, water enough to prevent soil drying out.
Hardy hibiscus plants like to be planted in well-drained soil. They do well in loam, peat-free compost.
