Senecio articulatus 'Variegatus' (Variegated Candle Plant) Add a touch of something different to your houseplant collection. What makes the Candle Plant particularly interesting is its unusual growing cycle. Unlike most houseplants, it grows actively from autumn through to spring, before naturally dropping its leaves and going dormant during summer. During this time, you may be left with just a bare, candle-like stem, which is completely normal and where the plant gets its name.
Supplied in an 8.5cm pot, it's a lovely compact plant for a bright windowsill, shelf or desk. Keep it somewhere with plenty of bright light and well-drained compost, watering sparingly during its growing season and reducing watering significantly while dormant.
Please note: This plant is summer deciduous, so it may arrive without leaves during its natural dormancy period. This is perfectly normal, and fresh growth should return as the plant becomes active again in autumn.
