  • Lavandula ‘Hidcote’ is one of the UK's most loved lavender varieties, and it’s easy to see why. Its deep purple flower spikes, beautiful fragrance and compact growth make it a classic choice for gardens of all styles. Whether planted along pathways, in borders, around roses or in patio pots, it brings colour, scent and a real cottage garden feel throughout the summer.

  • This hardy English lavender loves a sunny spot and, once established, is incredibly easy to look after. It copes well with dry conditions and poor soils, making it a great choice for low-maintenance gardens. The flowers are also a favourite with bees and pollinators, helping to bring more wildlife into your outdoor space.

  • Supplied as one healthy plant in a pot, ready to plant and enjoy. Please note that plants may not be in flower at the time of dispatch, but once established, they'll reward you with years of fragrant blooms and evergreen foliage.

  • Plant genus Lavandula

Watering Water regularly while the plant is establishing, then allow the upper soil to dry slightly between waterings. Established Mediterranean herbs prefer free-draining conditions and generally need less water than leafy crops. Container-grown plants will still need checking frequently during warm, dry weather.

Best Growing Conditions Grow in sun or partial shade in sandy, enriched with organic matter where appropriate. Choose an open position with good airflow and enough space for the crop to mature without excessive competition. Protect tender crops from late frost and cold winds, and use greenhouse or sheltered growing conditions where the variety requires extra warmth.

    Top tip

Keep growth moving steadily with consistent watering and regular picking or harvesting once produce reaches a usable size. It works particularly well in a borders setting; give it enough space and light to develop naturally rather than crowding it.
