The Aeschynanthus 'Rasta', is a slow growing plant - commonly known as the curly wurly lipstick plant. Due to it's tubular red flowers, that are held near the tips of the trailing stems by a darker sheath-like calyx like a tube of lipstick.
This is a very eye-catching plant that looks great cascading over the side of the pot and can be displayed in hanging planter or displayed on a shelf or similar structure.
Light Required
This plant is low light tolerant but will prefer much brighter light. Bright light will encourage flowering, too much bright light though can lead to leaf scorching.
Watering
Water relatively freely when in active growth, making sure the compost dries out in-between, but keep drier in winter. This plant does bounce back easily if you forget to water them every once in awhile.
Best Growing Conditions
Cool temperatures can lead to leaf loss, so it is important to keep the plant in constant warmth.
