  • Artemisia dracunculus, commonly known as tarragon, is a beloved herb, recognised for its slender, aromatic leaves and distinctive flavour. A mainstay in French cooking, tarragon lends a subtle anise note to sauces, chicken, fish, eggs, and salad dressings. To maximise its flavour, it's best to harvest the fresh leaves regularly during the growing season.

    Watering Water thoroughly after planting and keep the soil evenly moist while the plant establishes. Once established, water during prolonged dry periods rather than little and often, allowing the soil to drain between waterings. Container-grown plants should be checked more frequently in warm or windy weather.

    Best Growing Conditions Grow in sun or partial shade in fertile loam. Choose a position with good airflow and enough space for the plant to reach its mature size. Mulch after planting and keep the root zone free from prolonged waterlogging, particularly through winter.
