  • Azalea ‘Empress’ is a beautiful evergreen shrub that brings bright pink colour into the garden for much longer than you’d expect from a typical azalea. Its vibrant flowers appear in generous flushes through the season, while the glossy green foliage stays neat and attractive all year round, making it a lovely choice for borders, pots, or brightening up partially shaded areas of the garden.

  • What makes this variety feel a bit more special is the combination of repeat flowering and compact evergreen growth. When in bloom, the plant becomes covered in soft pink flowers that really stand out against the dark green leaves, creating a much fuller and more colourful display than many standard shrubs. It’s ideal if you want something elegant, easy to place in the garden, and rewarding for a long period rather than just a few weeks.

  • It’s also surprisingly easy to care for once settled in. Plant in partial shade or a sheltered sunny spot with moist, acidic, well-drained soil, and keep it watered while establishing.
