Bacopa bedding plants are a lovely choice if you’re after something soft and flowing for your garden displays. They produce masses of small, delicate flowers that create a gentle, elegant look, perfect for brightening up baskets and containers.

With their natural trailing habit, they’re ideal for hanging baskets, window boxes and pots, where they can spill over the edges and fill out nicely. Once they get going, they create a full, balanced display that looks great all season.

They flower steadily from late spring through to early autumn, giving you long-lasting colour without too much effort. They’re also easy to grow and settle in quickly, making them a good option whether you’re new to gardening or just want something reliable.

Watering Water thoroughly after planting and keep the soil evenly moist while the plant establishes. Once established, water during prolonged dry periods rather than little and often, allowing the soil to drain between waterings. Container-grown plants should be checked more frequently in warm or windy weather.

Best Growing Conditions Grow in partial shade to gentle sun in fertile, well-drained loam. Choose a position with good airflow and enough space for the plant to reach its mature size. Protect from hard frost and cold, drying winds, especially while young or when grown in containers.

Top tip

Remove faded flowers regularly to keep the plant tidy and encourage the longest possible flowering display. In colder parts of the UK, give it a sheltered position and provide winter protection during prolonged frost.
