Watering Water regularly while the plant is establishing, then allow the upper soil to dry slightly between waterings. Established Mediterranean herbs prefer free-draining conditions and generally need less water than leafy crops. Container-grown plants will still need checking frequently during warm, dry weather.

Choose an open position with good airflow and enough space for the crop to mature without excessive competition.
