Our Bold Statement Houseplant Collection is instant wow factor. This colorful trio of tropical indoor plants was hand-picked for its bold shapes, rich foliage and vibrant flowers. Together, they create an eye-catching display for living rooms, home offices, bright hallways or conservatories.
The Bromeliad Urn Plant, Aechmea fasciata ‘Primera’, features broad green leaves marked with silver-grey bands and a vivid pink flower bract. The Aechmea Blue Rain adds even more drama through its upright violet-blue and pink flower spike, surrounded by a sculptural rosette of green foliage.
Completing the collection is Peperomia caperata ‘Roja Grande’, a compact houseplant with deeply rippled, heart-shaped leaves in warm red and burgundy shades.
Bright, indirect light is best for these low-maintenance houseplants, away from the hot afternoon sun. Water moderately, allowing excess water to drain away. Keep the central cups of the bromeliads filled with fresh water. Occasional misting will help to keep the humidity up. This is a striking indoor plant collection and a lasting centerpiece with their contrasting heights and colors. As living products, each individual plant will vary slightly in color, height and shape naturally. Such natural variation makes each collection have its own personality.
Light Required Bright, filtered or indirect light. Avoid strong afternoon sun. The plants tolerate partial shade, although brighter indirect light encourages stronger colour and flowering.
Watering Keep approximately 2–3cm of soft water in each Aechmea’s central cup, emptying and replacing it every one to two weeks. Water the Peperomia when the top 2–3cm of compost feels dry, allowing excess water to drain. Reduce watering during winter.
Best Growing Conditions Best grown at approximately 15–25°C with moderate humidity and good air circulation. Use airy, moisture-retentive but freely draining houseplant or bromeliad compost and protect from cold draughts.
Branch Details The Aechmeas form upright, non-branching leaf rosettes and produce offsets around the base. Peperomia ‘Roja Grande’ forms a compact, densely tufted mound.
