Grow delicious cherries in your own garden with our Cherry Trees (Prunus avium), supplied in 5 liter pots as grown-on plants. Cherry trees are a beautiful addition to fruit gardens, home orchards and sunny garden borders, providing lovely spring blossom followed by tasty summer fruit. Prunus avium ‘Regina’ or Prunus avium ‘Stella’. Regina is known for its large, dark red cherries with a sweet flavor. Stella is a popular self-fertile variety with juicy dark red fruit. Plant your cherry tree in a sunny, sheltered spot in fertile, free-draining soil. Water well when establishing and during prolonged dry spells, particularly when fruits are forming.

Hardy, attractive and rewarding to grow, these 5L Cherry Trees provide beautiful blossom, seasonal interest and the pleasure of harvesting fresh cherries from your own garden.

Watering Keep the soil consistently moist while the crop is establishing and growing, especially during flowering, fruiting or rapid leafy growth. Water deeply at the base rather than little and often, allowing excess water to drain away. Plants in containers, grow bags or greenhouses may need daily checks during warm weather.

Best Growing Conditions Grow in sun or partial shade in fertile loam, enriched with organic matter where appropriate. Choose an open position with good airflow and enough space for the crop to mature without excessive competition. Protect tender crops from late frost and cold winds, and use greenhouse or sheltered growing conditions where the variety requires extra warmth.

Top tip

Keep a weed-free circle around the base while the plant establishes and mulch annually, leaving a small gap around the stem or trunk. It works particularly well in a borders setting; give it enough space and light to develop naturally rather than crowding it.
