Schlumbergera plant commonly know as the Christmas Cactus is a very special indoor plant that flowers wonderfully in the Winter. This Red Christmas Cactus will bring festive cheer, blooming non stop from November to the end of January. With its pretty red flowers with flashes of white and a striped fuchsia pink centre. Throughout the year this houseplant is an evergreen, epiphytic perennial cacti with arched or trailing thick, green, toothed and segmented stems.

  • EASY TO CARE FOR - This real houseplant is very easy to care for, growing to between 15 and 30 cm in height. Christmas cactus grow best in a light spot out of the bright direct sunlight. Place the cactus in an east facing window for moderate light and some direct sun. If the leaves turn red or pink, it might be getting too much sun.

  • ONGOING CARE - Keep the soil around the Schlumbergera moderately moist but not soggy. The soil may be on the slightly drier side. Rather than watering little and often, occasionally, water generously. Unlike most cacti, the Christmas cactus loves a moist atmosphere, misting the plant every few days is ideal.

  • PLEASE NOTE - This plant arrives in a plastic growing pot, any decorative pots featured in our listing imagery are not included.

Light Required A Christmas cactus should be kept in a bright place, with indirect light.

Watering Water your Christmas cactus only when the soil gets dry to the touch. But during the flowering season, it is crucial to keep the soil evenly moist by misting it frequently.

Best Growing Conditions Grow your Christmas cactus in a warm, bright spot out of direct sunshine, and mist a few times a week. In order to flower every year, Schlumbergera need two periods of ‘rest’ – lower temperatures and less watering – after flowering in late winter and again in September.
