• Corylus avellana ‘Scooter’ is a beautiful, compact corkscrew hazel that will grow to approximately 150 cm in height. It provides all year round appeal to any garden. During early Spring it carries yellow catkins and has stunning bright green leaves which carry all through Spring and into Summer. These leaves then turn a pale yellow in the Autumn. Even in the Winter this plant draws attention, thanks to its unusual twisted stems.


• Corylus ‘Scooter’ is excellent for Japanese inspired gardens and rock and gravel gardens. It is also great for beds and borders or for creating informal, low hedges and screens.

Light Required This corkscrew hazel is ideal for the middle of a sunny border or large container and appreciates both sun and the shade, it also copes well with any type of soil.

Best Growing Conditions This plant is easy to prune at any time throughout the year and can be used in floral arrangements. The lovely twisted branches can be cut off to be used for Easter decorations for instance.
