Best Growing Conditions This forst hardy plant (down to -10C) grows in fertile, moist but well-drained acid soil in a sheltered position, in partial shade or in sun where the roots can be kept cool and shaded. Propagate by semi-hardwood cuttings in late summer. It will take around 20 years to reach its maturity.
