  • Crocus ‘King of the Striped’ is a striking early Spring flowering bulb known for its large, goblet-shaped blooms featuring bold lilac-purple petals elegantly streaked with white. These hardy perennials are among the first to flower, creating vibrant carpets of colour when little else is in bloom. Reaching a height of 10-15 cm, they are highly attractive to pollinating insects.

  • Plant Crocus ‘King of the Striped’ bulbs from Autumn to early Winter in well-drained, fertile soil in full sun or light dappled shade. Space bulbs approximately 5-8 cm apart and at a depth of around 8 cm. After planting, water thoroughly and add mulch to help retain moisture and suppress weeds. Once flowering ends, allow the foliage to die back naturally, as this helps the bulb store energy for the next growing season.

  • Perfect for borders, rockeries, and containers, Crocus ‘King of the Striped’ also naturalises well in grassy areas or under deciduous trees, where their blooms shine before the canopy fills in. For dramatic Spring displays, plant en masse or mix with snowdrops and early daffodils. They also make cheerful cut flowers and are ideal for creating eye-catching Spring highlights around patios, pathways, or garden edges.
