  • Barred Horsetail, or Equisetum japonicum, is an eye-catching evergreen plant, prized for its striking, architectural appearance. Its stems, ridged and hollow, are devoid of leaves, marked by horizontal lines that provide a strong vertical element all year long. A small, brown, oval flower cone graces the stem tips in season, adding another layer of visual appeal.

  • This plant makes a real impact when massed together, where its consistent stems create a bold, contemporary aesthetic. It's a great choice for ponds, streams, and other water features, but also serves well as ground cover or a natural screen in the garden's wetter spots.

  • Planted in a 9cm pot, Barred Horsetail is perfect for gardeners seeking to add structure, texture, and year-round interest to water-side plantings or modern landscapes.
