  • Hippeastrum, also known as Amaryllis, is a striking flowering bulb known for its large, trumpet-shaped blooms in shades of red, white, pink, and bi-colours. These bold, dramatic flowers grow atop tall stems and are a Winter favourite for indoor displays, blooming in just 6 to 10 weeks after planting. 

  • Plant Hippeastrum bulbs from October to January for indoor flowering. Use a well-draining potting mix and place the bulb with one-third of it exposed above the surface. Water sparingly until growth appears, then increase watering as the flower stem develops. Position in bright, indirect light. After flowering, continue watering and feeding to allow the bulb to store energy for the following year. With the right care, Hippeastrum will rebloom seasonally.

  • Best suited for indoor pots and containers, Hippeastrum makes an impressive focal point in conservatories, kitchens, or living rooms. For outdoor Summer enjoyment, allow the plant to rest after flowering, then move it outdoors in a sheltered, frost-free area to continue growing.
