  • Hosta ‘Big Daddy’ is a brilliant plant for bringing fullness and texture to shaded parts of the garden. Its large blue-grey leaves have a thick, deeply textured look that instantly makes borders feel more lush and established, especially under trees or in those darker spots where other plants struggle. It’s one of those plants that quietly stands out and gives the garden a much calmer, more finished feel.

  • As it grows, it forms a big leafy mound that adds real presence to borders and woodland-style planting schemes. In summer, soft pale flowers rise above the foliage, adding even more interest without taking away from those striking leaves. The thick foliage also makes it a little more resistant to slug damage than many other hostas, which is always a bonus.

  • It’s very easy to care for too. Plant it in partial or full shade in moist, well-drained soil, water while it establishes, and it will happily settle in with very little fuss. Supplied in a 2L pot, it arrives healthy and ready to plant straight into the garden for instant impact.
