- This hydroponic Clusia is a simple yet eye-catching way to bring a bit of greenery into your home. Set in a clear 10cm glass tube, it shows off both the leaves and the roots, giving it a clean, modern look that works well in all sorts of spaces, from desks and shelves to bedside tables.
- Because it’s grown in water rather than soil, it’s nice and low maintenance with no mess to worry about. Just keep the water topped up and it will continue to look fresh and healthy. It’s a great option if you like plants but want something easy to care for.
- The built-in LED light adds a soft, warm glow, making it a lovely feature in the evening without being too bright. Supplied in a smart gift box, it also makes a thoughtful present for housewarmings, birthdays or anyone who enjoys something a little different for their home.
Plant genus Clusia
Common Name Autograph Tree
Plant type Indoor Plant
Foliage type Evergreen, Perennial
Hardiness Tropical
Flower colour Pink, White
Leaf colour Green
Growth Rate Moderate
Edible Use No
Light Required Bright In-direct sunlight
Watering Water when the top few centimetres of compost begin to dry, then water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain away. Do not leave the plant sitting in standing water, as consistently wet roots can lead to rot. Growth slows in winter, so reduce watering frequency during cooler, darker months.
Best Growing Conditions Grow in bright, indirect light and protection from harsh direct sun, ideally at around 18-26°C, away from cold draughts and sudden temperature changes. Use a suitable, free-draining growing medium and make sure excess water can drain freely from the pot. Most houseplants perform best with moderate humidity and should be kept away from strong radiator heat.
