- Ilex Lucifer is a real live evergreen holly plant part of the Aquifoliaceae family. This winter hardy plant has glossy oval irregular edged leaves with sharp spines. This berried outdoor growing shrub is very slow growing but can grow to be 5–10 metres tall, depending on its growing conditions.
- Holly is often associated with Christmas due to its red berries and evergreen leaves, which is often said to symbolise the enduring power of life.
- Ilex aquifolium plants are ideal for planting to create a privacy, security hedge. It can also be trimmed into balls or left to grow wild, but does benefit from regular pruning to prevent too much leggy growth.
