  • Impatiens Red New Guinea produces large, vivid blooms in rich shade of red. These striking continuous bloomers add bold colour and visual interest to your garden displays. Simply remove faded flowers and keep the soil moist to encourage healthy growth from late spring through to the first frost.

  • With lush, tropical-style foliage and a bushy growth habit, New Guinea Impatiens provide both floral and foliage interest. Their tidy structure suits containers, beds, borders, and hanging baskets.

  • Thriving in part-shaded areas, these plants are ideal for patios, under trees, and north-facing gardens where many Summer flowers may fail to bloom. A reliable option for adding colour to harder-to-fill shady spots.

  • Plant genus Impatiens

Watering Water thoroughly after planting and keep the soil evenly moist while the plant establishes. Once established, water during prolonged dry periods rather than little and often, allowing the soil to drain between waterings. Container-grown plants should be checked more frequently in warm or windy weather.

Best Growing Conditions Grow in sun or partial shade in fertile, well-drained loam. Choose a position with good airflow and enough space for the plant to reach its mature size. Protect from hard frost and cold, drying winds, especially while young or when grown in containers.

    Top tip

Remove faded flowers regularly to keep the plant tidy and encourage the longest possible flowering display. In colder parts of the UK, give it a sheltered position and provide winter protection during prolonged frost.
