Harvest late Summer to early Autumn.

  • Our Spring planting onion sets are live low maintenance small immature onions that will grow into full sized ones. These sets are perfect for UK growing in garden vegetable patches or in allotments. They are a reliable way for producing the earliest crop and for growing multiple varieties.
  • Onion sets are undemanding and require only occasional watering during particularly dry periods. Grow them in raised garden planters, containers or allotments in any firm, well draining soil in full sun. Plant in the Spring for harvesting from late Summer to early Autumn. To reduce and deter onion fly it is suggested to grow onions along with mint plants.
  • These onions will be ready for planting when you receive them, however if you are not garden ready yet, ensure you open the paper bag, store in a cool dark spot and keep away from any pests, it is essential they have airflow and avoid any moisture.
  • This listing offers 100 sets of a single named variety, approximately 500 grams in total. Or three lots of 50 sets totalling approximately 750 grams of different varieties. Due to each onion having a varying in weight the total weight may not be exact.
