  • Oriental lily 'Snowy Mountain' embodies a timeless, pristine beauty, offering perfect white flowers that seem to radiate against the deep green backdrop of its leaves. This bright, clean variety makes a striking statement, whether in a contemporary, streamlined garden or a more traditional, cottage-style setting. Its scent is gentle, yet undeniably oriental, making it a standout feature of the summer months.

  • Even with its graceful looks, 'Snowy Mountain' is surprisingly low-maintenance. It flourishes in pots, raised beds, or directly in the ground, quickly developing sturdy, vertical stems that can grow quite tall. The flowers are also excellent for cutting, bringing a tranquil, uncluttered aesthetic to bouquets and infusing the air with a subtle fragrance.

  • If you need to hold onto the bulbs before planting, store them in a cool, dry place, shielded from frost. Keep them in their paper bag, but open it a bit to let air circulate. Check them periodically to make sure they stay firm; if they start to soften, plant them immediately. Once they're settled in, they can stay put for years, gradually forming large displays.

  • Light Required Full sun to partial shade

    Watering Moderate watering

Best Growing Conditions These bulbs should be planted in Spring in acidic soil, when the chance of Winter frosts have passed. Oriental lilies look best when planted in odd numbered groups. Plant them 10 to 15 cm deep, in a hole up to three times the size of the bulb. Space them 10 to 20 cm apart in fertile well draining soil in a sheltered area that gets full sun to partial shade. Lilies like a cold dormant phase through the Winter but it's important to ensure they have adequate drainage and not get waterlogged as this causes the bulbs to rot.
