  • Oriental lily 'Stargazer' is a perennial favourite, celebrated for its dramatic red blooms, each petal splashed with deep maroon spots and bordered by a clean white edge. This striking colour palette is instantly recognisable, making it impossible to overlook. The scent is rich and intoxicating, filling the air with its perfume on sultry summer evenings.

  • This variety flourishes both in containers and in the garden bed. Its tall stems are laden with blossoms, creating a breathtaking vertical display that draws the eye from any vantage point. "Stargazer" is a top pick for anyone who enjoys growing cut flowers. Their large, vibrant flowers and heady fragrance are ideal for inviting nature inside.

  • If you're not ready to plant immediately, keep the bulbs somewhere dry and cool, protected from frost. Ensure the packaging allows for some airflow, and inspect the bulbs from time to time. Once planted, "Stargazer" lilies thrive with minimal interference. They'll develop more substantial clumps year after year, resulting in an even more impressive display of blooms.

  • Light Required Full sun to partial shade

    Watering Moderate watering

Best Growing Conditions These bulbs should be planted in Spring in acidic soil, when the chance of Winter frosts have passed. Oriental lilies look best when planted in odd numbered groups. Plant them 10 to 15 cm deep, in a hole up to three times the size of the bulb. Space them 10 to 20 cm apart in fertile well draining soil in a sheltered area that gets full sun to partial shade. Lilies like a cold dormant phase through the Winter but it's important to ensure they have adequate drainage and not get waterlogged as this causes the bulbs to rot.
