  • The Primrose Daffodil Mix is a lovely way to welcome spring back into the garden. With cheerful daffodils rising above colourful primroses, it creates a bright, uplifting display just when the garden starts waking up after winter. Planted together, they give a natural, cottage-garden feel that works beautifully in borders, patio pots or along garden paths.

  • Both plants are hardy and easy to grow, so they’re perfect if you want reliable spring colour without much fuss. They cope well with the cooler UK weather and will quickly brighten up any outdoor space as the days start getting longer.

Watering Water deeply after planting and keep the root zone consistently moist while the rose establishes. Once established, water thoroughly during dry spells, directing water to the base rather than over the foliage. Container-grown roses dry out faster and should be checked regularly in warm weather.

Best Growing Conditions Grow in sun or partial shade in fertile, well-drained loam. Choose a position with good airflow and enough space for the plant to reach its mature size. Mulch after planting and keep the root zone free from prolonged waterlogging, particularly through winter.

    Top tip

Deadhead faded flowers through the season to keep the display tidy and encourage further blooms where the variety is repeat-flowering. Good drainage is especially important, so avoid leaving the roots sitting in persistently wet or compacted soil.
