  • With this Rhododendron Roseum Elegans, you will receive a vigorous, strong-growing evergreen shrub characterised by its large, dense, broad leaves that give the plant a full and impressive structure throughout the year. Its bold foliage provides excellent background colour in borders and woodland-style plantings.

  • Flowering from late spring into early summer, this distinctive variety produces beautiful lavender blooms that gradually soften to pink as they mature in late May. The generous clusters of flowers create an eye-catching display that attracts pollinators and brings vibrant seasonal colour to the garden.

  • Roseum Elegans is a hardy and dependable rhododendron, making it an excellent choice for hedging, screening, or planting in larger borders. Its upright, bushy habit offers long-term structure and year-round interest, settling well in acidic, moist, well-drained soil and partially shaded areas.

Watering Water deeply after planting and keep the root zone consistently moist while the rose establishes. Once established, water thoroughly during dry spells, directing water to the base rather than over the foliage. Container-grown roses dry out faster and should be checked regularly in warm weather.

Best Growing Conditions Grow in sun or partial shade in acidic, well-drained ericaceous soil or compost. Choose a position with good airflow and enough space for the plant to reach its mature size. Shelter from cold drying winds and strong early-morning sun, especially when flower buds are developing.

Top tip

Deadhead faded flowers through the season to keep the display tidy and encourage further blooms where the variety is repeat-flowering. Keep the root zone on the acidic side with ericaceous compost or suitable acidic soil, and avoid lime-based feeds.
